Insurance coverage details and exclusion list

  • Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme
  • Group Hospital and Surgical Insurance Scheme
  • Group Clinical Outpatient Insurance Scheme
  • Group Outpatient Specialist Insurance Scheme

The coverage will be subjected to the Terms and Conditions of the insurer's Policy.

After matriculation, you will be able to use the AIA Medical Card together with your identification card, birth certificate or passport when seeking medical care at the panel GP clinics to enjoy the Group Clinical Outpatient Insurance Scheme. An e-version of the medical card can also be found in the AIA eBenefits portal. Students will be able to retrieve the e-card when they log into the portal, and use the e-card at the panel GP clinics. Students will also be able to submit claims for reimbursement via the AIA eBenefits portal.

Benefits will cease and you are no longer eligible to the scheme's subscription when you have/are:

  • Graduated
  • Withdrawn from your study/course
  • Terminated from your study/course
  • When the student's status at SUSS changes from Active to Inactive due to other reasons determined by SUSS
  • Provides 24-hour worldwide coverage in the event of an Accidental Death.
  • Covers Permanent Total Disablement due to an accident.
  • Covers a percentage of sum insured should student suffers from a Bodily Injury which results solely and directly from an Accident.

This Group Hospital & Surgical (GHS) Plan is a medical expense insurance plan that seeks to reimburse the expenses incurred as a result of hospitalisation or surgery. The insurance is to provide 24-hour worldwide coverage in the event of hospitalisation or surgery. There is no minimum duration as long as (a) the Hospital makes a charge for room and board or (b) there is a surgery performed.

This plan provides for outpatient consultation. AIA has made available, a panel of General Practitioners to cater to students' clinical expenses for common ailments like coughs, colds, flu etc. When visiting a panel GP, students will not have to fork out any cash for care and treatment.

Students should remember to present their AIA Medical Card when seeking medical care, and identify yourself with the AIA Medical Card to ensure cash free consultation.

Claim Procedures

For Referrals to a Government/Restructured Hospital for Specialist Treatment and/or Hospitalisation/Surgery 

  • If you are referred by a Panel Clinic, you are considered a Private patient.
  • To qualify as a subsidized patient, you must be a Singaporean or Singapore PR, referred by a polyclinic and without reference to a Specialist by name.
  • Where possible, students should use the AIA Medical Card (physical card or e-card) when seeking outpatient services. 

Panel GP Clinics

  • Produce your AIA medical card upon registration.
  • AIA Singapore will reimburse the Eligible Expenses, subject to the limits and Co-payment/Co-insurance shown in the Benefit Schedule.
  • You may have to top up for non-standard medicine or pay a surcharge for visits after normal clinic operating hours (if applicable).

Polyclinics and Hospital A&E Department

  • All original bills/receipts must be submitted within 20 days after each treatment to AIA Singapore.
  • If the above is not possible, please give a notice of claim via email to AIA Singapore within 30 days after first treatment and follow-up with your supporting documents for claims when available.
  • AIA Singapore will reimburse the Eligible Expenses, subject to the limits and Co-payment/Co-insurance shown in the Benefit Schedule.

This plan seeks to reimburse outpatient specialist consultation expenses with a valid referral letter by a Registered Medical Practitioner (other than the specialist himself) and diagnostic x-ray and laboratory examinations upon the recommendation by a Registered Medical Practitioner in Singapore.
